Wayfinding: find the way, inside and out
Visitors find the meeting room, the clinic or the stand by themselves, on their own phone. We turn your floor plans into a 3D wayfinding app with levels, search and walking routes, with nothing to install.
What the app does
- 3D floor plan per level, built from your DXF or DWG drawings
- Search for rooms and facilities: meeting rooms, restrooms, entrances, parking
- Walking routes on a level and between levels via stairs and lifts
- Outdoors: route from your location (GPS) to the right entrance
- QR codes per room or desk: scan and the route starts immediately
- Runs in the browser on any phone, in 2D and 3D, also in dark mode
Where wayfinding makes the difference
In hospitals, conference centres, campuses and large offices, visitors lose time searching and your staff lose time explaining. A link in the invitation or a QR code at the entrance takes visitors straight to the right place.
Because it is a web page, nobody has to install anything. That makes it a good fit for one-time visitors, patients and events.
How we build it
- Collect floor plans, CAD drawings and the list of rooms
- 3D model with levels, rooms, categories and entrances
- Route network inside and outside, including stairs and lifts
- Your branding, QR codes and hosting on your own domain
- Handover, and updates after renovations or new rooms
Together with Cisco Spaces
Wayfinding and Cisco Spaces use the same floor plans and the same location hierarchy. Spaces has its own 3D Rich Maps and digital signage on Webex screens; our wayfinding app brings the route to the visitor's phone. You capture the map properly once and use it everywhere.
For which venues
- Hospitals
- Conference and exhibition centres
- Universities and campuses
- Offices
- Hotels and resorts
- Stadiums and arenas
Frequently asked questions
Do visitors need to install an app?
No. The wayfinding runs in the browser. Visitors open a link or scan a QR code and immediately see the map and the route.
What do you need from us?
Floor plans per level, preferably as DXF or DWG, the room names and where the entrances, stairs and lifts are. A PDF works too, it just takes more drawing.
Does the blue dot work indoors?
Outdoors the app uses GPS. Indoors GPS is not accurate enough, so the route starts from a QR code or a chosen starting point. Indoor positioning over Wi-Fi or BLE is possible, depending on your network.
Can I see an example?
Yes, open the demo at map.mihajlov.nl: an office building with three levels, search and walking routes.
